Fault message. Hi, I have a 207 Active 1.4. a couple of times in the last week a message has flashed briefly saying engine fault need repair. it happens for a split second when the engine fires up. it goes off instantly. when looking in diagnostics menu it says no faults apart from risk of ice this morning. I spoke to a Peugeot dealer who said

I bought my 1.6 Hdi Picasso in February this year, I have done 17k miles so far and I had a problem earlier this week. As I was joining a motorway warning lights started flashing and "stop" appeared. This was followed by "engine fault repair needed". I managed to get my car (in limp home mode I think) to my usual dealer who checked the fault.

What I need help with is identifying whether it is the fan motor, resistor pack, or feed that is at fault, or a combination of these. I have stripped out and removed the fan motor assembly and dried it out in the airing cupboard in the hope that this may resolve the problem.

A month ago the power steering motor packed up and a new one was fitted. Tonight just come home and says there is an ESP/ASR warning on the dash and the ESP light is on. Also it appears to be running on three cylinders and has a 'engine faulty - repair needed' message on the dash. Any initial thoughts without reading the codes.
